BEATING THE TRAVEL DEMON - SUPPORT MECHANISMS TO CURB THE COSTS OF TRAVEL TO COMPETITION

Is it any surprise people are finding it hard to compete and get to major events with travel being the most expensive in the history of the planet.

It’s not looking like easing anytime soon, Airlines and petrol stations haven’t been big advocates for skateboarding in the past, so we imagine it will continue for a while.

A BOOST FOR JUNIORS

While we can’t plug the hole completely, we are going to divert funds back to the juniors in the form of Prize Money.

Starting from November 1, In each Junior Division, we will be giving out 60% of the entries in that division as prize money to the 3 podium places. Cash is King, and its a good starting point to get money back into the hands of the skaters.

The remaining 40% will accumulate into an end of year pool for the overall winner, so it gives something to aim for across the season.

The more people enter, the higher the pool and the more you earn it. This will be across the:
9 & Under
12 & Under
16 & Under Divisions

As things normalise and grow again it’s a nice way for juniors to earn something for their efforts.

Referrals

Skateboarding is always on the lookout for new sponsors and advertisers, and sometimes they’ve been under our nose all along. Growing prize money, putting on more events and growing skateboarding is the game, so we are opening the doors to help you on the journey.

If there is a business you know who would be a great sponsor for skateboarding, we have a new referral program to give back to members of our community for supporting the sport.

We have referral bonuses of 10-20% (depending on your position) of referred sponsors.

Its an easy way for mums and dads to get that extra help for trips if they know some businesses, or skateboarders to connect their sponsors to the league.

If you have someone in mind, click the button below and find out more about our referral program.
