Expressions of Interest - Female Skateboarding Partner 2024

It’s officially been 11 years since competitions were moved from Opens to Mens and Womens Divisions.

During this window Female participation in the Amateur and Pro events we deliver has grown from 8% to 23% in 3023.

23% is a high number for female participation and the teams on the ground and females who have come before should be commended.

The 2 Leagues have invested over $800,000 since 2019 into female development, and it’s worked.

Some Success Stories include:

Shari Lawson is now a Worldskate Judge.
Kat Williams is the wellbeing officer for the Aus Olympic Team.
Aimee Massie is now a global Worldskate judge.
Haylie Powell is Competing at Olympic Qualifying Events and X Games.
Felicity Turner is Competing at Olympic Qualifying Events>
Chloe Covell is an X Games Gold Medallist, and 2 x Street league Champion.

Supporting the next generation

There has been success with a very small pool of females showing the potential our Australian girls have thriving on the world stage.

With a much bigger pool now, we want to achieve further success and make sure we support a larger crop of females coming through.

They are here now

What’s been Implemented going forward

We’re dedicated to the growth of Womens Skateboarding and are continuing the following strategies to support them ongoing.

  1. All Prize Money is Equal.

  2. When events are broadcast, Male and Female Divisions are always both broadcast.

  3. Coverage utilises both males and females from the leagues.

  4. 9 & Under & 12 & Under divisions are mixed, to allow females in low participation areas to continue to compete.

  5. Further identification to support those coming through.

Time for Change

We think that 11 years (coming on to 12) is far too long for a Womens sport to not have its own sponsor or partner to support taking it to the next level.

We are currently looking for a partner to help us close the gap in Womens skateboarding and create a legacy for future generations of female skateboarders.

We are looking for a partner who will:
1. Support the females with prize money and prizes for growth.
2. Help us develop more content to promote the females in the leagues.
3. Support us in the grassroots development of young females entering competition.

Our Organisation and our existing partners will:
1. Maintain operational overheads of competitions eg infrastructure, judging, Insurance.
2. Run an in house team to work with the partner on its growth.

If your organisation is an advocate for Womens sport, and would like to get involved, please fill out the form below and we will get in touch.
