Growing our Skills in Skateboarding with CQ University

A big part of success in communities and sports in Australia has been the ability to recruit from its own community and members. This helps not only in keeping funding in the sport, but also having people with a passion and understanding of the community to be able to drive it in the rights cultural direction.

Skateboarding, for some time, has had a shortfall of skills in our community, and as skateboarding grows, more jobs and opportunities become available.

We want to make sure that roles that exist in skateboarding, whether it be the bookkeeping for skate shops, event management, filming and administration can be delivered by skateboarders at whatever opportunity possible.

We are excited to announce that CQ University has partnered with us to help maintain recruitment and job opportunities for skateboarders heading into the future.

Our team will continue to work with CQ university to identify roles in skateboarding that are not currently being delivered by skateboarders, and finding the courses and education needed to fill these roles. We will be able to continue to connect to the community and provide this information to skateboarders who are looking to study, upskill or try and find work in the industry and connect them to the relevant qualifications.

We are excited to launch this partnership at the 2022 Rumble on the Reef Championships in Mackay.
